Spring Semester begins January 7th, 2025

Ms. Joli’s Cottage School of Fine Arts is a private recreational dance and art studio program for kids of all ages (beginning at age 2). Each class session explores both visual and performing arts through lessons in ballet, tap, art and music. Students in this program gain self-confidence and technical skills in an environment that fosters creativity, expression, community and a love for the arts. Our program is unique in our desire to create an "old school" family based activity in which kids have the ability to be hands-on with the vision of our show content, the creation of sets and props, and the opportunity to sing, dance, and act while also creating visual art projects related to our show theme of the season. Parents and siblings often have the opportunity to participate in group activities and performances further establishing our desire to create a community that is a nurturing and fun experience for the entire family.Daytime homeschool and preschool classes are available, as well as afternoon/evening classes and private lessons. Class size is limited allowing for personalized attention at every level. Each season’s “cast” of students will help create and perform in two annual shows, a Christmas program in mid-December and a Spring show in early June. Each show includes a display of the art projects the kids have created throughout the semester. Two themed summer camps are offered in June and July. A classical ballet technique camp is also offered during the summer.

About

Ms. Joli

Dance has been a part of my life since beginning studio lessons as a child. In my teen years I trained with Texas Ballet Theatre and began teaching lessons at local studios. After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education and Communication from the University of North Texas, I married my high school sweetheart (the students refer to as “Mr. David”). Together we have raised four wonderful kids - who also share their talents in making this program a success! In 2002 I founded a faith based dance program called "Grace In Motion" in Louisville, KY which grew from 12 students to nearly 60 prior to a relocation back to Texas in 2004. Since that time I have taught dance classes at private schools as well as offered classes to the children of Christ’s Haven Children’s Home. I served on staff as a classical ballet instructor with North Central Ballet for over 10 years and have also been the dance instructor for the Arts Council Northeast’s Summer Arts College for Kids program for 10 years as well.My experience with children has been a lifelong journey as a mom, a dance instructor, an adoption specialist, a private school kindergarten teacher, and as a day school provider for children under the age of 5 for 13 years prior to starting CSFA in 2020. I have also enjoyed serving in children’s and youth ministry.I consider it a great blessing to have nurtured and maintained lasting relationships with former students as well as their families throughout the years. Ms. Joli’s Cottage School of Fine Arts is a dream come true and has been a wonderful compilation of the skills and talents I have gained over a lifetime of working with youth and the arts.
